We Care

Giving Back to Our Community

Training dogs is our work. But this community is our home. We live here, we raise our families here, and we believe that a better community starts with better relationships between neighbors, between families, and yes, between people and their dogs.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Active in Our Community

At Lake Cumberland K-9, we've always believed that our responsibility doesn't end at the kennel gate. Dogs don't exist in a vacuum; they're part of families, neighborhoods, and communities. When those communities thrive, dogs thrive too.

We participate in and sponsor local events throughout the year, support causes that matter to the people around us, and show up when it counts. Because the same values that make a good dog, loyalty, consistency, and showing up, are the ones that make a good neighbor.

STORIES THAT INSPIRE

Kentucky Child Dies Trying to Save Dog from Fire

Some stories stop you cold. In February 2019, a young boy lost his life just around the corner from our center, going back into a fire to save his dog. That kind of bond between a child and their dog is something we understand deeply here. Dogs aren't just pets. They are family. They are worth running back for.

We donated 10% of that month's earnings to his family. It was a small gesture against an enormous loss, but it was the only thing we knew to do.
