K-9 Companions Therapy Dog Program

Trained dogs changing lives: one visit at a time.

OUR THERAPY DOG PROGRAM

K-9 Companions is a group of certified therapy dogs and their owners who visit local nursing homes, bringing comfort, connection, and joy to residents who need it most.

It takes a special kind of dog to do this work. They must be calm, friendly with both people and other dogs, and completely at ease in unfamiliar environments. Every dog in our program is current on vaccinations, in good health, and well groomed because the people they visit deserve nothing less.

Two of our most beloved members, Gretchen and Mindy, are no longer with us. Gretchen served as a therapy dog for ten years. Mindy for five. Their gentle presence touched more lives than we can count, and they remain a permanent part of what K-9 Companions stands for.

OUR MASCOT

MEET ALPHA

Alpha wears more hats than anyone here. She's our only four-legged trainer, the alpha dog among every dog that comes through for training, keeping order the way only a true pack leader can. She's our mascot, greeting every person who walks through the door like it's her home, because it is. She's a cherished family pet. And she's a registered Therapy Dog, visiting local nursing homes alongside the K-9 Companions group.

Alpha isn't just a dog. She's proof of what the right training, the right environment, and the right love can produce.

WANT YOUR DOG TO BECOME A THERAPY DOG?

Not every dog is cut out for therapy work, but the ones who are make an extraordinary difference. If your dog is calm, sociable, healthy, and well-trained, we'd love to talk about what it takes to join K-9 Companions.

Reach out and let's see if your dog has what it takes.
